'Harlequin and woman with necklace' dates from the perior right after Picasso's revolutionary exhibition which a landmark in the development of the cubist movement. It was painted in Rome in 1917 -the year in which Picasso also designed the sets and costumes for Diaghilev's famous ballet company, and fell in love with dancer Olga Koklova. It is oils on linen, measuring 200x200. The original painting is in the possesion of the Musee National d'Art Moderne, and can be seen in the Centre Pompidou in Paris.This is the unique collection of Picasso carpets, rugs and tapestries.
