CÁCERES CASA DE CÁCERES O CASA DEL MONO Partiendo de la Plaza de Santa María, y bajando por la cuesta de la Aldana, típica como la Cuesta de la Monja, la Cuesta de la Compañía, la de las Veletas y otras, se puede admirar entre otras pintorescas edificaciones, la Casa del Mono, de estilo gótico, apodada así por los monos de piedra grabados en el perfil de su escalera. Su nombre es tomado de otra edificación gótica sita en la misma cuesta, llamada "la Mansión de los Aldana", uno de cuyos miembros, Hernán Pérez, llegó a ser Capitán General de la flota real de Alfonso VI. Frente a la Casa del Mono, hay una interesante casa mudéjar. House of the Monkey Beginning at the Plaza of the Santa María, and continuing down the slope of the Aldana, very unique as the slope of the Nun, The Slope of the Company, of the Veletas and more; it is admirable for its typical constructions, the Monkey’s House, following the Gothic style, has been so called because of the relief stone monkeys that so adorn the stairs of the house. In front of this house, there is a very interesting mudéjar style house, as well as the "Mansion of the Aldana" down the slope.
