House of the Shells

This mansion can be considered as the civilian building most representative of the art of the era of the Catholic Kings. As in the culture of the 15th century of Spain, in their house there is a fusion of gothic, Arabic, and Italian architectural suggestions. Its founder was the Doctor Rodrigo Arias with the ornamental motive of 350 pilgrim shells, which are the symbol of the Order of Saint James, of which he was the chancellor.
